I’ve been working in the advertising field for quite some time now. Promos and contests like in The Body Shop Philippines’ IG page isn’t new to me since I am familiar with the efforts that marketing people like me do to come up with such. However, it was my first time ever to join an online contest and “be chosen” in the end to try out a new product. In this case, the BodyShopPH’s new Skin Defence Multi-Protection Essence SPF 50.
So one day, I stumbled upon blogger @anagon ‘s post inviting #instagrammers to join this simple contest. All I had to do was upload a photo of myself holding an umbrella and use about three hashtags. Fortunately that weekend, my sister and I went to the Pinto Art Museum in Antipolo City where we were able to take home a handful of truly instagram-worthy, artsy photos (the only content of my IG as of the moment, lol). Coincidentally, it was raining cats and dogs that time so I was able to take home a photo of myself in an umbrella. I had an instant entry without even knowing about the contest yet.
It’s not much. Just a candid photo taken by my sister of myself walking the steps of one of the museum’s gardens. I used a color selection filter which muted the background and made the red hues stand out. I added the hashtags and waited for the announcement. A week after, they announced five winners and I was one of them! 🙂
THE ESSENCE OF SKIN DEFENSE
- We owe ourselves a healthy mind and body
As a full-time employee, a mom and a wife, I am faced with lots of responsibilities, which can keep me preoccupied for a long time. We always have events and… I love constant beach trips and mountain climbing. I don’t mind getting dirty from outdoor activities at all.
However, just because we’re busy juggling life and we love the outdoors, doesn’t mean that we should lose the commitment to take care of ourselves too.
2. We need a regimen that is not dragging to do
Good thing this new product Skin Defence Multi-Protection Essence SPF 50 promises to do the heavy work while keeping it light (literally), as we continue our daily lives. I just got the product so I can’t make a review of its effectiveness just yet but I was able to try it on my skin already. I was happy and surprised to find out that its milky cream is lightweight! It gets absorbed by the skin without the sticky feel – which is EXACTLY the kind of product I prefer! Given that we have to always come to work slightly made up, I wouldn’t want my face to feel heavy on top of other products of course. A lightweight cream also allows us to use this product everyday – even when it’s raining because toxins are still present no matter the weather. We need our daily dose of skin protection.
Plus, this new sunblock also promises to shield against daily aggressors, which in my case, since I commute from home to work and vv, are smoke pollution, sunlight (harmful UV rays) and yes, acid rain. I just love the thought of having a thin layer on my skin doing its responsibility of keeping these bad stuff out of the pores.
3. We need to improve the things that we can
Lastly, those who know me personally would also know that I don’t have the perfect glowing skin! Yes because our skin would still depend on our genes you know what I mean? 🙂 But it doesn’t mean that we won’t try to improve the things we can change. In this case, we can make it smoother. Or as this product claims, more luminous in just four weeks. Let’s see about that?
Other things that might be interesting for moms or women about this product in general are:
- UVB protection: SPF 50 helps protect skin from UVB rays that trigger redness and damage the skin’s surface.
- Anti-oxidant effects: Helps protect skin from external aggressors such as environmental pollution that weakens the skin’s ability to remain healthy.
- Anti-dullness effect: With red algae extract and vitamin C to brighten skin for a more luminous complexion.
- It also has red algae extract and vitamin C that keep the skin bright
The #NoFilter Life
Women today tend to find it easier to slack off with their skin regimen because our mobile apps have high-tech filters that fake glowing skin! But without our IG and #vsco filters, how would our skin look like? It’s time to fight off skin aggressors and achieve the healthy body that we want to have.
